The housing market is crashing — but not in the way you think.

In this video, I break down the housing crash and explain why it has less to do with homes for first-time buyers and more to do with speculation, foreign investment, and bad financial advice from so-called experts. The biggest drops are in luxury properties and bubble markets like Toronto’s and Vancouver’s “shoebox condos,” not the homes regular families actually need.

I discuss the role of government red tape in slowing down new housing developments, how speculative and foreign investors helped inflate the market, and why policies like Vancouver’s unoccupied home tax changed the game. Some investors will lose millions — and while I don’t wish bankruptcy on anyone, bad investments shouldn’t come with government bailouts.
