The John Cady Podcast Episode 41: Pastors Need to be Open About Their History

As I continue my quest to find a church (or churches) to visit and break the Bread of Life with other believers, I make mental notes and come up with questions. I have survived abusive churches in the past, and refuse to go through that experience again. One of the biggest red flags I noticed recently is when I listen to a pastor and when I do some research on his history, there is nothing other than when the church was founded. Pastors should not be mystery men. If there's no background or transparency, how can I expect to trust this shepherd? I need to know where he earned his ministerial credentials, where he labored, and if there were any issues that may have led to his departure from a previous ministry. I need to know if he left on good terms, or if there was misconduct. Anyone who claims to be a man of God needs to open and transparent for the good of the flock entrusted by God.
