"Get back!" shouted Illinois State troopers using batons as they shielded ICE agents in vehicles from the protesters.

Broadview Police Chief Thomas Mills, who has previously been critical of ICE, watched the situation closely, in person.

As U.S. Border Patrol Commander at Large Greg Bovino led his forces into the situation being handled by state troopers, he gestured and spoke briefly to a state troopers before taking over the scene: "You've got one warning only! Unlawful assembly!"

ICE, CBP, ATF and HSI collaborated with state and local police in the response.
