AllatRa keeps nagging about something boiling under Siberia.
It mentions the Siberian magmatic plume that is pressing on the Siberian Traps.
The Siberian Traps are a large area of volcanic rock,
covering about 2 million km², composed mainly of igneous rocks.

It is believed that about 250 million years ago, intense volcanic activity
shaped this area in the way we see it today.

AllatRa emphasizes that due to the compactness of the Siberian Traps, on its edges
increased seismic activity should be noticeable.
Probably all of this is exaggerated!

Let's see what the data on the Volcano Discovery pages say
about Kamchatka, which is on the edge of that plate.

In 2024, 521 earthquakes were recorded in Kamchatka.
1 M7+, 1 between M6 and M7, and 19 between M5 to M6.
So, 2 earthquakes of magnitude M6+.
The total combined power of the earthquakes is like 1 M7 earthquake.

Let's see how it looks in 2025, somewhere in early October.

The number of earthquakes has risen to as many as 4882.
Of which 1 M8+, 4 M7 to M8.
17 earthquakes M6 to M7
275 earthquakes M5 to M6.
Total combined power M8.8.

So, from 2 M6+ earthquakes, in 2025 it has already risen to 22 earthquakes.
The trend shows an increase of as much as 1350%
