Nearly a thousand people are trapped on the east slope of Mount Everest in Tibet due to heavy snowfall, — according to Sanxiang Dushibao

Deep snow is complicating rescue efforts, and tourists are unable to descend the mountain. The worst snowstorm to hit the mountain in early October began on Saturday: visibility dropped to less than one meter, and snowfall covered key sections of the route.

In some areas, tourists' tents were completely buried, and yaks were unable to move through the deep snow.
