Today, our guest is Thorunn Thors Jonsdottir. Þórunn “Tóta” Þórs Jónsdóttir is a pioneering advocate, educator, and entrepreneur in Iceland’s hemp and cannabis sector. As the co-founder and current vice president of the Icelandic Hemp Association, she has played a central role in promoting hemp's industrial and medicinal uses in Iceland. Her work spans public education, sustainable agriculture, and policy advocacy, positioning her as one of the country’s leading voices for hemp reform.

With over a decade of experience working directly with patients suffering from chronic illnesses, Tóta has helped individuals manage pain and improve their quality of life using hemp and cannabis-based therapies. Her dedication to applied research includes the cultivation of 10 hectares of hemp over three years, a groundbreaking project she documented in the film The Green Revolution.

Tóta is also the founder and CEO of Reykjavík Hemp and the driving force behind Hemp for the Future, an international conference scheduled for October 2–3, 2025, that will bring together experts, policymakers, and industry leaders to discuss the future of hemp and cannabis in sustainable development, medicine, and business.

She regularly shares her expertise through media and public speaking engagements, including appearances on podcasts and video series such as Hempy Talks and The Lobsterpot Podcast. Her work is deeply rooted in a philosophy of sustainability, community health, and environmental responsibility.

Through her multifaceted efforts, Þórunn “Tóta” Þórs Jónsdóttir continues to shape the landscape of cannabis and hemp in Iceland and beyond, championing their potential for healing, innovation, and ecological balance.
