If you repeat a lie long enough…does it become “history”? In this episode we dismantle the popular claim that Mesopotamia is the cradle of civilization and walk through evidence that the Nubio-Kemetic (Ancient Egyptian) world was earlier and foundational—from early scripts and city formation to mathematics, astronomy, and religious frameworks that later appear in the Levant and Sumer.

We start with writing: tomb U-j at Abydos (King “Scorpion I”) and Dr. Günter Dreyer’s discoveries of inscribed labels dating centuries before proto-cuneiform. Then we zoom out: Predynastic Egypt (Naqada I–III/Gerzean), urban density along the Nile, Nabta Playa’s astronomically aligned megaliths, and a working calendar millennia before Old Kingdom pyramids. We preview an (incomplete but telling) list of “Egyptian firsts,” and show how religious concepts (Ogdoad/Ennead, sky-god lineages) map onto later Mesopotamian systems. Finally, we touch the debated origins of Sumer—why names, statuary, and cultural transfers point south, and how later narratives obscured that trail.
