BREAKING: US Govt Officially Shuts Down; Trump Admin's Last-Ditch Effort Fails

The United States government has officially shutdown after a vote to extend the federal funding with a midnight deadline failed in the US Senate on Tuesday. President Donald Trump threatened to extend his federal workforce ouster after accusing Democrats of pursuing the shutdown. The Senate required 60 votes to advance the legislation but fell short by 55-to-45 votes, which means that US government agencies will have to discontinue all but “essential” activities like law enforcement from Wednesday onwards.
