Parasite Mutant - Announcement Trailer

Parasite Eve fans, rejoice. Although Square-Enix has not announced a return to the series, an indie game heavily inspired by Parasite Eve is being made called Parasite Mutant by developer IceSitruuna. It’s a survival-horror, futuristic action-RPG in which you play as psionic agent Nova who is sent on a mission to an island full of mutants and other horrors. The battle system uses what’s called Active Time Chains that is a modified version of the Active Time Battle (ATB) system that Square-Enix innovated and used in several of their late ‘90s RPGs. Although meant to be a modern game, it looks to carry the spirit of Parasite Eve and other RPGs of the original PlayStation era, including using a CRT filter for that classic look.

Parasite Mutant will be releasing for PlayStation 5 and PC at an unannounced date.
