Our "Leaders" are in breach of trust, this is obvious to anyone who pays attention, the example of Vince Siemer being jailed for reporting judicial Corruption in New Zealand is only 1 of many.

The reasoning behind following new laws is "Obey us cos we made it up and put it down on paper", by the same logic we should obey the dictates of fiction writers (which incidentally most legislators are).
Having had harsh upbringings has in fact instilled upon us an inherent empathy for our fellow man and it is this reason that gives us the motivation and energy to do so much work that benefits the human race.
