Chicago mayor signs executive order preventing ICE from using city property

Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson has signed an executive order strengthening the city's "Welcoming City" ordinance. It explicitly bans ICE and other federal immigration agents from using city property for civil immigration enforcement. The order also extends new protections to private property owners who refuse access to these agents.
