I am a southern girl born in raised in Collard Valley in Polk County Georgia. We went to church on Sunday, school during the week, the grocery store on Friday’s and that was our life. No vacations, no camping, just plain old southern country peopleNOW FOR THIS FAMILY RECIPE:16 oz. FRESH BRUSSEL SPROUTS WASH, HALVED2-3 SLICES BACON CHOPPED1/2 SMALL ONION SLICED THIN1 CUP HOT WATER1 1/2 TBSP. SUGAR1 1/2 TBSP. APPLE CIDER VINEGARSALT & PEPPER PLACE BACON IN A PRE-HEATED SKILLET. COOK ON MED/HIGH UNTIL GOLDEN BROWN. TAKE OUT BACON BITS. COMBINE THE WATER, SUGAR, AND VINEGAR. ADD BRUSSELS TO SKILLET AND ONION AND SAUTE FOR 3 MINUTES. POUR WATER OVER BRUSSELS AND SIMMER UNTIL ALL THE LIQUID HAS EVAPORATED FROM THEM. LET THEM SIZZLE IN THE SKILLET FOR A COUPLE OF MINUTES. TURN OFF THE HEAT. ADD BACON BITS, SALT AND PEPPER, AND STIR. ENJOY
