How much does a well cost? How long to drill a well?

We are building our home and need a new well drilled. Some neighbors wells have gone dry, others are 40+ years old and working fine. City water is too far away to be cost effective. We are going to share details on how long it took, how deep and what the cost is for a new fresh water well to be drilled on our farm.
