Not one ostrich on our farm today — the ones still standing — has ever been tested.

The only testing that was done was the PCR test on the two dead birds.
The live, healthy birds have never been tested at all.

And when we asked why they wouldn’t test the living birds, there was no real answer.

We tried to ask for help — but instead, under the quarantine order, we were threatened with six months in jail and a $200,000 fine if we attempted to do independent testing on our own animals to prove their health.

A lot of people are scratching their heads wondering: How can this be?

We have been cooperative from the very beginning, yet we keep getting punished.

They keep moving the goalposts — changing policies as they go.

Under the Trump administration, they received a letter about trade concerns. We even had support from our expert witness. But that case isn’t recognized in Canada — in fact, it’s treated as a threat, because it involves a hybrid strain that’s only half of what they claim it is.

So they changed policies again — moving the goalposts yet another time — and labeled it one of the most violent strains of avian influenza in Canada.

Why? Because for nine months they’ve been playing around with two PCR tests in a petri dish somewhere, essentially making up whatever they wanted in order to justify this to the world — to justify what we believe is a crime against humanity.

The “stamping out” policy they’re enforcing is broken.

“Stamping out” doesn’t just destroy infected animals; it wipes out natural immunity, genetic diversity, and the firewall within healthy herds — and that puts humanity at risk.

We lose these animals’ natural antibodies — the firewall they provide — when they destroy them.

It’s like when you buy an older cow from an auction: you’re looking for good genetics and good health. That’s what preserves the strength of herds and protects the future.
