Andrew Bridgen served four consecutive terms as MP for North West Leicestershire, first elected in 2010 and holding his seat until 2024.

Over that time, his support grew appreciably, with vote shares of 44 %, 49 %, 58 % and 62 % in successive elections. His decision to stand as an independent in 2024 followed his expulsion from the Conservative Party in April 2023, a move that marked a turning point in his political journey.
