Unnao Inspector Suspended for Reporting Drunk on Duty, Assaulting Locals at Ramlila Fair

Unnao, UP — An inspector was suspended after being caught drunk while on duty during the Ravan fair at Ramlila Maidan. Identified as Harendra Singh, he was deployed on QRT duty when locals filmed him in an intoxicated state. Angered by this, he allegedly slapped the bystanders, leading to a scuffle in which the public beat him up.

Taking cognizance of the viral video, SP Jai Prakash Singh ordered immediate suspension of the inspector and initiated a departmental inquiry.

Unnao Police confirmed that a case has been registered at Kotwali Sadar Police Station under relevant sections. Two people involved in the assault have been detained.
