Driver Slams Into Back of 18 Wheeler, GOOODRICH, October 8, 2025 - At approximately 6:30 am on October 8, 2025, the driver of a white Volvo sedan was south-bound on US-59. As the driver of the Volvo was passing the north end of Loop 393, an 18 wheeler pulled out of the crossover (from the north-bound side) and directly in front of the Volvo. The Volvo slammed into the back of the 18 wheeler. Trooper Simon Mijares with the Texas Highway Patrol drove up on the accident right after it happened and radioed to dispatch for EMS services. The driver came out of his car under his own power and was walking around. Deputies from the Polk County Sheriff's Officer arrived to assist Trooper Mijares along with Corporal Ramey Bass with The Texas Highway Patrol. The driver of the Volvo was transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The car was recovered by Dan's Towing out of Livingston.
