LA Guns - Diamonds

L.A. Guns is an American hard rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1983 by guitarist Tracii Guns and drummer Rob Gardner. The group quickly became a staple of the Sunset Strip glam metal scene, initially merging with Axl Rose's Hollywood Rose to form Guns N' Roses in 1985—though Guns soon reformed L.A. Guns with a new lineup. Their breakthrough came in the late 1980s with the "classic" lineup of Tracii Guns (guitar), Phil Lewis (vocals), Mick Cripps (guitar), Kelly Nickels (bass), and Steve Riley (drums), releasing hits like "The Ballad of Jayne" and "Kiss My Love Goodbye" from albums such as Cocked & Loaded (1989) and Hollywood Vampires (1991). Over the decades, the band has endured lineup splits, legal battles (including two competing versions from 2006–2012), and reunions, with Guns and Lewis reforming the core duo in 2016 after resolving disputes. As of 2025, the band remains active, touring and recording, with drummer Steve Riley passing away in 2023 and his splinter group (Riley's L.A. Guns) disbanding that year.
