The combs are one of the least critical parts of the generator - well in terms of materials that is - you can make them from bundles of wire snipped off in a straight line - I made mine from two small strips of brass and some dressmaker pins. When positioning them they should both be on the same side of the belt - the bottom comb needs to be just above the point where the belt leaves the roller and on the top the comb needs to be just below the point where the belt joins the roller. The combs need to be as near the belt as you can get them - without catching the belt - obviously
