Why you shouldn't celebrate Charlie Kirk's death

In today’s video we discuss the wicked online reaction to Charlie Kirk’s death. Since the Assassination this past Wednesday, people have been making all sorts of insane statements and videos practically justifying this man’s death due to his controversial political beliefs. Charlie Kirk was an outspoken political commentator and had definitive views and beliefs on almost every major issue and many of those views, I personally disagreed with but by no means does that justify this man’s death. The very foundation of political discourse and political coalitions is the idea that one should be able to say what they believe without being the victim of a deadly assault and you would expect that point to be clear given many people’s views on the issue of Gaza. The main principle when it comes to that is supposed to be that we are against the killing of innocent people and that it shouldn’t matter what these people say or how they live, that doesn’t justify their execution. But in the case of Charlie Kirk people are so blinded by their partisan beliefs and their political hatred that they are unwilling to see that this is heinous as well. Two things can be true at once, Charlie Kirk dying is bad, the genocide in Gaza is also bad. It’s simple. However, these people’s online reaction has been very revealing of a more sinister side of people’s beliefs. Revealing of the fact that there is a certain subgroup of people who are okay with people dying as long as it’s people they disagree with. To those people who truly believe that, I say this, what happens when the table turns on you? What happens when the people who disagree with you want to shoot you for the things they disagree with you about? What happens in that society? What does that look like? Who wants to live in a society where people can be openly shot for stating their political beliefs? Ironically enough, that looks like the fascist authoritarian nazi white supremacist society that these people are so afraid of. So these people are literally arguing in favor of the things they claim to hate. It can’t get any more preposterous than this.
