Douglas V. Gibbs joins me as we continue our walk through James Madison's notes from the 1787 Philly Convention.

On the table today were arguments in favor of the more nationalist Virginia Plan and the more federalist New Jersey Plan that would preserve States Rights.

The Founders also discussed whether the Convention even had the authority to discuss such radical changes to the Articles of Confederation and whether the people of the colonies would tolerate such a drastic change to our government.
