What Sign Would Be Enough

When God invited King Ahaz to “ask for a sign, as deep as Sheol or as high as heaven,” He opened the door for faith. But Ahaz refused. Why? And what does that reveal about us?
This week we’re opening Isaiah 7:10–16 to wrestle with some hard but honest questions:
• Do we ever refuse to ask God because we don’t really want Him to interrupt our plans?
• What signs are we still asking for — and what would it take for us to finally believe?
• Even as believers, are there places in our lives where we trust our own “Assyrias” instead of trusting the Lord?
• How does the promise of Immanuel — “God with us” — confront our unbelief and reshape our expectations?
Come ready to learn from Scripture, to see the warnings in Ahaz’s story, and to be strengthened in your faith in Messiah Jesus. The same God who offered a sign to an unbelieving king has given us the greatest sign of all — His Son, our Savior.
