🚨🇱🇧 Hezbollah shows its strength: tens of thousands rally in Lebanon for Nasrallah tribute

A large gathering of the Shiite “Imam Mahdi Scouts Association” took place at a stadium in Beirut.

Around 60,000–70,000 people attended the event, held to honor former Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah.

👉 The Association, founded 40 years ago, is overseen by Hezbollah and serves as one of its sources of new recruits. Participants, who undergo both combat and ideological training, have previously been seen fighting against Israeli forces.

The very fact that such an event was held highlights Hezbollah’s enduring popularity — despite ongoing efforts to “disarm the group,” the Lebanese authorities were unable to prevent the mass gathering.

The number of participants clearly demonstrates the challenges the Lebanese army would face if the government were to “push through” a decision to forcibly disarm Hezbollah.

🤦‍♂️ Interestingly, pro-Israeli media outlets mocked participants for giving what they called the “Roman salute.” In the Middle East, this gesture is used quite commonly and retains its original meaning unrelated to Nazism — yet Israeli authorities are always quick to see antisemitism everywhere.
