Jeremiah’s Prophecy of Judgment and Personal Struggle During Judah's Backsliding.
Jeremiah prophesied during the reign of Jehoiakim after King Josiah's death, warning of severe drought and famine as God's judgment for Judah's swift return to idolatry and sin. Jeremiah identified with the people's sins and condemned false prophets who promised peace falsely. Despite Jeremiah's prayers and intercession, God declared judgment inevitable, stating even Moses and Samuel could not avert it. Jeremiah, rejected and distressed, found solace in God's Word, which brought him joy and strength. God assured Jeremiah of protection and deliverance as he continued to faithfully deliver the difficult message.
