Oklahoma City, OK - A suspect was taken to a hospital after being shot by a police officer during an alleged assault early Wednesday in southwest Oklahoma City.

Around 3 a.m., police responded to a disturbance on Southwest 64th Terrace near May Avenue. An officer tried to de-escalate the situation, and police said the suspect started throwing boards and bricks at him.

The officer then pulled out his weapon and shot the suspect. Police said that the suspect was taken to a hospital, but his condition is unknown.

The officer had minor injuries and was taken to a hospital.
