Protesters clash with police in Chicago while helicopters in Portland are targeted by lasers

Protests against Trump administration immigration policies erupted Saturday outside an ICE facility in Chicago, where clashes between demonstrators and police led to multiple arrests.

Hundreds of protesters breached the perimeter of the Broadview facility as officers wielded batons to restore order.

In Portland, Oregon, activists staged a “laser party,” encouraging participants to shine lights at helicopters — a move police warned was dangerous and illegal.

The unrest came as a federal court ruled that National Guard troops deployed to Illinois by President Trump must remain under federal control but cannot yet be used for patrols or property protection, the Daily Mail has reported.

The decision followed legal challenges from Illinois officials, who argued the deployment was unconstitutional, underscoring rising national tensions over immigration enforcement and federal authority.
