The Canterville Ghost, 1944

Sir Simon of Canterville, a coward, runs away from a duel in the 1600s and takes refuge in the family castle. Until one of his descendants does something heroic, his humiliated father locks him in the chamber where he is hiding and condemns him to a life as a ghost. When Simon encounters Cuffy Williams, an American kinsman who was stationed in the castle in 1943 with a troop of soldiers, he thinks he might be spared. Will his blood be as yellow as the rest of the Cantervilles', or will this blood related preserve the family's honor?
