Parshat Bereshit: Beginnings

We begin anew the Torah and Haftorah reading cycle starting with Bereshit (Genesis) Chapter 1 through Chapter 6 verses 7 and 8. However, the most important central character of this story of beginnings is, for the most part, simply assumed. No great detail of this Person is revealed in any kind of reflective contemplation. We see, in a limited fashion, some of the actions of this Person but not much more.
