Week 39 Tutorial: Paul's Ministry Takes Shape (Acts 17–19; 1 & 2 Thessalonians; 1 Corinthians)

Week 39 Readings of our 2025 Chronological Bible-in-a-Year Reading Challenge see us continue our study and appreciation of the life and ministry of the Apostle Paul, aka Saul of Tarsus—called personally by Christ Himself as a Champion of Grace to the first century Gentile world.

In this double-feature video*, Chad Mansbridge introduces us to some of the qualities of this great Gospel preacher (including his knowledge of the Hebrew Bible, familiarity with Greek culture, and status in Roman politics); and encourages us to take note of the persecution Paul endured and how his expertise in Scripture shaped his ministry letters/epistles.

We also observe how Paul responds to the issues faced by the churches he planted, including, this week, the congregations in Thessalonica and Corinth. Together with Galatians, these are the earliest of Paul's letters, dated in the early-mid-50s.

To best appreciate the chronological cohesion of Paul's travels and his letter-writing, consider approaching this week's readings in the following sequence:
- Acts 17; followed by 2 Thessalonians, then 1 Thessalonians.
- Acts 18–19; followed by 1 Corinthians.

*Important note: as explained on the 'Special Announcement Video' (dated 19 Sept. 2025), we are now utilising recordings from Chad's 2018 Chronological Bible Challenge, which followed a slightly different schedule.
