Jeremiah 23-24: Judgment, Promise of a Righteous King, and the Two Baskets of Figs.
Jeremiah 23–24 highlights God's judgment on corrupt leaders who scattered His people, promising to gather and restore a faithful remnant. A righteous King from David's line will reign, bringing justice and safety to Israel. False prophets who falsely promise peace are condemned. God rejects both political and religious leaders who mislead the people. Chapter 24 presents a vision of two baskets of figs symbolizing two groups: the exiled captives, whom God will restore for their good, and the rebellious who face further judgment and dispersion. This prophecy foretells a future restoration during the Millennium, beyond the historical return under Ezra and Nehemiah.
