A Grand Square in October: The Pressurized Invitation to Arrive

Throughout October a grand square dominates the sky, with some of its planets changing but the configuration prevailing throughout the month. Squares form when one planet is 90 degrees from another. Squares challenge us to get real, come down to earth, fully show up, gain presence and stand our ground.

A Grand Square is the grandaddy of all squares, when one planet is 90 degrees from a second planet, which is 90 degrees from a third, which is 90 degrees from the first—four planets at right angles to each other, forming a huge celestial box.

Astrology doesn't cause things to happen so much as underscore and constellate forces already in existence. So it's not as though your life is running smoothly and wham here comes a big ol' square to take you down. It's rather that relationships you're in, whether to other people, animals or groups, as well as the one you're in with yourself, may have unresolved conflicts or tension that the Big Square may exacerbate.

If you find yourself under pressure, and tension mounts, ask yourself if it's a wake-up call more than an obstacle, a blessing instead of a curse, a summons to draw forth your true nature, and you'll harness the power of the square for its greatest use: catalyzing the enormous change needed on planet Earth at this time.
