Having mastered realism at a very young age, Pablo Picasso went on to help define several emergent genres, including cubism, surrealism, expressionism, and symbolism, and in doing so became a dominant figure in the art world and one of the greatest artists of the 20th century.

Picasso’s personal life also was quite dynamic, marked by intense and turbulent relationships with women who had a significant impact on his art.

Professor Enrique Mallen, Director of the Online Picasso Project, will walk us through the major stages of Picasso’s life, and discuss the women and artworks that defined each period.
