Dr. Gabor Mate answers questions about October 7 during a conference

During his presentation at the Premier Trauma Therapy Conference in California, USA, physician and trauma expert Dr. Gabor Maté was asked by a member of the audience about the October 7 attack on Israel and how one could feel compassion for those involved.

Dr. Mate responded by stating that the story did not begin on October 7 and drew a comparison between the treatment of indigenous Palestinians and indigenous communities in Canada and the United States. His remarks were met with loud applause from the audience.

Later, Dr. Mate apologized to the questioner for his “emotional response.” He said, “The correct answer to your question would have been: I understand your point of view, but this is not the place to address this issue.”
