Unearthed from the back of a thrift-store crate comes Patsy Jean Harlan’s long-lost 1989 country single, “Flickin’ My Bean.”

At the time, Patsy didn't have a boyfriend - and she sure didn’t need one. A small-town Kentucky singer with a straight pretty face and a wicked sense of humor, she wrote songs that left folks laughing, blushing, and sometimes walking right out of the bar. When she cut Flickin’ My Bean in a low-budget Nashville studio, the label pressed only a handful of copies before quietly shelving it. Too risky for radio, too bold for the charts, and far too funny for Patsy to care.

Some say she performed it live once at a county fair - half the crowd doubled over in laughter, the other half pretended they hadn’t heard it. Others claim a jukebox in rural Tennessee carried the single for a few weeks before it mysteriously disappeared.

Now, over 35 years later, Flickin’ My Bean resurfaces as the raunchiest, catchiest novelty country song you’ve never heard. With twangy pedal steel, fiddle fills, and Patsy’s deadpan delivery, it’s pure 1989 country gone gloriously off the rails.
