P.B. Scott’s Music Hall was a renowned music venue located in Blowing Rock, North Carolina, operating from 1976 to 1983.
The venue, built in the shape of a Buckminster-style geodesic dome, was notable for its 700-person capacity and unique multi-deck design, making it a premier destination for live music in the High Country during its six-year run.
It attracted a wide array of legendary artists, including B.B. King, Bonnie Raitt, Gregg Allman, Leon Russell, George Thorogood and the Destroyers, John Prine, Arlo Guthrie, Doc Watson, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble, REM, and many others.
The venue was particularly significant during a time when alcohol restrictions in nearby Boone made Blowing Rock a popular nightlife destination.

The closure of P.B. Scott’s in 1983 was the result of a legal dispute between the North Carolina ABC Commission and the town of Blowing Rock, which led to the cancellation of its ABC permits.
Despite its closure, the venue's legacy endured, fostering a strong sense of community among fans. A Facebook group dedicated to remembering P.B. Scott’s, "Remembering P.B. Scott’s Music Hall in Blowing Rock," has nearly 3,000 members, reflecting its lasting cultural impact.
In recognition of its enduring popularity, an official reunion event called the PB Scott’s Roundup was held on May 18, 2025, at Saloon Studios Live in West Jefferson, North Carolina, featuring live performances by Sidewinder and the Peak City Band.
The event was part of a broader celebration of the venue’s history and its role in shaping the region’s music scene.
The original P.B. Scott’s in Blowing Rock was located near the ABC store, and a second venue opened in Charlotte shortly before the Blowing Rock location closed.
