Second Potato Harvest from Containers, Reusing Compost & Getting Extra Crops

Welcome back to the garden! After a short holiday break, it’s time to dig into the second potato harvest of the year. These container potatoes have finished growing, so today I’m tipping them out, collecting the compost, and seeing what kind of crop we’ve got.
In this video you’ll see:
• Harvesting both white and red potatoes from containers 🥔
• How I reuse compost and even old containers to save space and money
• The benefits of topping containers with wood chips to keep moisture in
• Why growing potatoes in containers inside a greenhouse or polytunnel can give you an extra early crop
• A look at the final yield—small, medium, and a few big ones!
This is my second container harvest this year, plus I still have the main crop in the ground to come. That makes three potato harvests in one season, which I think is pretty good going.
👉 Let me know in the comments: how many potato harvests do you usually get in a year?
Thanks for watching, and I’ll see you soon when we dig up the main crop potatoes
