Development of Creature | Process of Evolution

If we eat grains, 5% percent of our merit karma passes on to the grains and they will evolve from one sense to two senses and will go to a higher development, but when we do some good work like worship etc, we earn merit karma worth 100. As a human if one doesnt hurt others, one goes to a higher development in the process of evolution.
