However, Trump acknowledged that there is a problem due to tensions between Zelenski and another political figure —Putin—, stating that “they don’t get along very well,” which makes meetings difficult.

The president suggested the possibility of holding separate meetings but “on equal terms” to avoid friction. “This is a terrible relationship between the two of them,” Trump said, adding that he has witnessed “things nobody would believe,” referring to the diplomatic situation at hand.
