Donald Trump's flagrant campaign for the Nobel Peace Prize may have fallen short, but he can't have been too disappointed with the outcome. The winner, Maria Corina Machado, is a far-right Venezuelan opposition leader who fervently supports Trump's regime change efforts and his murderous campaign of extrajudicial executions in the Caribbean.

In this interview with Donald Trump Jr. on his show Triggered, Machado boasts of Venezuela's oil reserves -- the world's largest, exceeding even Saudi Arabia's. And she all but offers them up on a silver platter to US oil companies under her party's extreme privatization plans. It's nothing short of an open invitation to recolonize her country and a sign of just how farcical this year's Peace Prize really is.
