How do we still constantly make bad decisions even when we're warned beforehand? In Luke 22:31-62, Pastor Rick outlines the profound lessons in Peter's painful experiences around the crucifixion. While Jesus prepared for His greatest sacrifice, Peter was arguing, relaxing his guard, and failing to do the right thing at the right time.

His three denials teach us that overconfidence in our own strength sets us up for devastating failure. Yet Peter's story doesn't end in shame—when the rooster crowed, he remembered Jesus' words and wept bitterly, demonstrating true repentance. This passage calls us to honest self-examination: recognize your propensity toward the same patterns of pride and poor choices. Only when we see our desperate need can we fully appreciate the magnitude of Christ's sacrifice and walk forward in humble, Spirit-empowered obedience.
