Trump Loves Women

President Donald Trump unveiled a major plan to make fertility treatment and IVF more affordable for American families. The proposal encourages employers to offer fertility insurance benefits, similar to dental or vision coverage, giving more workers access to reproductive healthcare through their jobs.

Trump also announced a deal with EMD Serono, the maker of fertility drugs like Gonal-F, to slash prices on IVF medications through a new government platform called TrumpRx.gov. Under this agreement, Americans will pay the same “most-favored-nation” pricing that other countries pay — with Gonal-F discounted by as much as 796% compared to current U.S. retail prices.

The initiative does not mandate federal funding or require insurance companies to cover IVF but instead creates a voluntary model for employers to adopt. Trump also negotiated tariff relief for EMD Serono’s parent company, Merck KGaA, in exchange for lowering drug costs.

Framed as part of his 2024 campaign promises, the move is designed to appeal to families and women voters while delivering concrete relief on healthcare costs. Supporters say it shows Trump tackling high drug prices and putting American families first without growing federal bureaucracy.
