Restored

The word renew implies a restoration of what has become faded, worn out and depleted. To renew or rejuvenate means to return something to a former or original condition. Let’s face it; when life’s circumstances have beat us down, or we’ve been going 90 miles an hour for an extended period of time, we need rest and rejuvenation.

Psalm 51:12 Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, And uphold me by Your generous Spirit.

As seen in David’s life with the writing of Psalm 51, he needed to be restored because his sinful life had overtaken his joy. He recognized his sin, after Nathan pointed it out, and went directly to God to be restored and filled with joy again.
