TwitchCon 2025 is facing massive backlash following the assault on streamer Emiru on the first day of the event during a meet-n-greet.

During that time a fan walked past security and grabbed the streamer, attempting to kiss her, before her own personal security intervened. Twitch staff reportedly did nothing during the incident and even let the attacker walk away before Emiru’s manager forced the Amazon owned company to take action. This initially only resulted in a 30 day ban before Twitch was pressured to make it a lifetime ban.
