The Louvre was robbed in just 4 minutes in front of visitors, said France's Minister of Culture, Rachida Dati.

In footage published by BFMTV, a man in a yellow vest and hood can be seen calmly breaking open a display case in the Apollo Gallery.

The Minister of Culture stated that this was the work of professionals and admitted that the issue of museum security in the country has not been resolved for over 40 years.

According to the French Ministry of the Interior, the robbers could have been foreigners.
