The Winds of Aeolus - The Odyssey

After escaping the Cyclops and the wrath of Poseidon, Odysseus found refuge on the island of Aeolus — keeper of the winds.
The god took pity on him, sealing every storm inside a sacred leather bag, leaving only the west wind free to carry him home.

For nine days they sailed. Ithaca lay within sight.
But envy whispered among his men… and one act of folly was enough to undo it all.

When the bag was opened, the heavens split. Every storm the gods had ever made came screaming back into the world.
Aeolus turned them away, saying no man cursed by the gods could ever find favor again.

So close to home… and cast adrift once more.
