Zombie Radio - Trapped and Alone in the Apocalypse

National Guard Report:
A transmission was received from a trapped individual in a southern state. A fire team was dispatched to the area to retrieve the individual and any others residing in the residence. During the radio broadcast he was noticeably effected by the events and had been sheltering for some time in his residence before moving to a basement area and finally setting up an older amateur radio rig. Beside it were some notes about supplies and time, but it did not appear he received any reply. Upon inspection of the house there was a portable butane stove with an empty bottle and mobile lighting in the basement area with two empty cots. The windows were covered, as described in his transmission with shelter blankets, a thick wool material that would've been impossible for light to pass through. The upstairs did not appear to have any signs of a scuffle or fight. During the transmission it was obvious that due to the isolation that paranoia had set in and his sanity was in question. There was no sign of the occupants, the building was abondoned, nor which direction of travel they may have taken. At this time I, the commanding officer, am closing this case and handing it over to the local authorities, but with the current load I don't believe the short staffed police force will mount any search or rescue attempt.
