I've found this method to be a very quick and pretty accurate approximation of a bar grip with that is more tailored to you specifically. It may feel a little more comfortable a little wider or a little more narrow. But what is shown from the demonstration will be a way to emphasize the chest and maximize pec stretch. Make sure not to rotate the hands too far forward or back as well (as shown) to optimize grip strength and wrist stability. Hope this helps!
