Why did the Jews speak Aramaic?

"The state of Aram," was named or derived from Shem's last-named son of Aram stated at Genesis Chapter 10: Verse 22 in the Bible by Moses. Aram was Noah's grandson, and the Aramaeans were a Semitic people whose language was closely related to Hebrew in its characters, but not as old as ancient Hebrew. Aram was generally acknowledged by Biblical historians, theologians, and archaeologists as the forefather, or progenitor of Syria and the Syrians. Modern day Syria's official language is Arabic, also of Semitic origin, while Aramaic is more associated with the learned or scholarly in education.
