Reporter: You're obviously disappointed that the summit won't happen or that the meeting won't take place. Can you shed some light on why you think this is impossible?

Szijjártó: First of all, we're very glad the two presidents talked to each other. We know that whenever Russians and Americans are able to maintain civilized relations, the world becomes safer. From the very first moment this summit was announced, I was almost certain there would be leaks, false statements every day, dozens and dozens of claims that it wouldn't take place, because I know many have conflicting interests regarding this meeting.

Reporter: Don't add one and one and get three. Ultimately, the meeting isn't happening, and it's not because of fake news — it's because, for some diplomatic reasons, it can't happen at the moment. So my question to you is: do you hope it will happen in the future, and is the Budapest government ready to host it then?

Szijjártó: Obviously, we are ready. We are doing everything we can. We were asked to host this summit. We are ready to host it. We will provide the participants with all the necessary conditions for successful work. I hope the summit will take place. There is no date yet, so I don't understand what «postponement» means. I really hope that during my meeting with Secretary of State Rubio, I will have a much clearer picture. I know that.
