Sen. Murphy on Lawmakers Accepting Their Pay During the Shutdown

BALLASY: “Hey, Senator, just a quick question for you. Do you think members should be paid during the shutdown, the senators and congressmen?”
MURPHY: “I think the House of Representatives should show up for work. There’s no way to end the shutdown until they actually get here, show up. So, that’s the most important thing right now. So, that’s — there’s no way to — there’s no way to have a negotiation with only half the — half the Congress here. So — “
BALLASY: “Some members are voluntarily not taking pay. Are you on board with that?”
MURPHY: “Nope.”
